Stringila: cross-shaped religious pillows to squeeze while praying
Stringila is a company specialized in the production of cross-shaped pillows with representations of religious figures and images of Saints. These pillows are available in various sizes and can be held or hugged during prayer. They are made by inmates in some prisons. The company’s goal is that of spreading the cross as the emblem of divine love, in the form of a soft pillow for anyone who wishes to hug it.
The project is based on the idea of embracing the cross as a gesture of support and comfort. Stringila is not only a meaningful product, but also a solidarity initiative. For this reason, part of the proceeds from the brand is donated to voluntary associations and foundations that promote actions of solidarity and social benefit.
All Stringila cross-shaped pillows are created in the House of Detention Forte Urbano di Castelfranco Emilia. This is possible thanks to the collaboration with the Social Cooperative “Giorni Nuovi”, which has always been committed to seeking employment opportunities aimed at the reintegration of prisoners.
